I uploaded a set of capture data to the Live Optics UI. The tool is impressive 🙂 Did Dell build this, or acquire this?
I can do a better capture - it's double counting some disks because the tool doesn't understand ZFS at all, and I was lazy and didn't exclude them. On the same note, it's massively skewed the IOPS towards writes because ZFS's AR Cache will be taking quite a large portion of read hits from the disks themselves.
If you've got a line to the team behind this, put in a feature request to get it to understand Linux's in-memory disk caches, such as the standard Linux page cache or the ZFS ARC. Right now it's not giving much insight to the read load and thus would be difficult to make a sizing decision on this data alone.
