    If anyone stumbles upon this (documentation is really sparse), here is what I found to be useful. When starting the collector in interactive mode, it allows to define a configuration without starting a collection. This configuration is saved in `LiveOptics_Configuration.xml` and re-used on startup. The file is very easy to edit, here how it looks in general:

    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <dpackconfig:dpack
        xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema"
        xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"
        xmlns:dpackconfig="http://dpack.dell.com/Collector/Config.xsd"
        version="1.1"
    >
        <dpackconfig:Session>
            <dpackconfig:IncludeInstalledApps>false</dpackconfig:IncludeInstalledApps>
            <dpackconfig:DurationHours>24</dpackconfig:DurationHours>
            <dpackconfig:IokitFile>collection.siokit</dpackconfig:IokitFile>
            <dpackconfig:WebService>true</dpackconfig:WebService>
        </dpackconfig:Session>
        <dpackconfig:Target Type="linux">
            <dpackconfig:Address>host01</dpackconfig:Address>
            <dpackconfig:CommandLine>ssh host01</dpackconfig:CommandLine>
            <dpackconfig:MachineRelabel Machine="host01" Label="alias01"></dpackconfig:MachineRelabel>
        </dpackconfig:Target>
    </dpackconfig:dpack>

    One can simply edit this file and then start a daemonised collection using this config with `./liveoptics -a -d`.
