There is a huge variance in the total IOPS for multiple tiers and the system IOPS with default storage profile in a hybrid solution. Wanted to understand what does this mean.
FOr instance, in a hybrid array sized with 36 SSD and 36 HDDs is offering 200K IOPS, but there is a statement showing as below which is confusing.
When HDD are used with volumes in the default storage profile, the HDDs will impact the Host IOPs. The reads are typically 20% of the host reads from the slower drives. To obtain maximum IOPs consider assigning unique storage profiles to pin those volumes to the SSD tier of disks. With all volumes in the default profile the system is expected to achieve 27000 IOPs based on these assumptions.
Just wanted to understand what does this mean.
