Run DPACK without Vcenter?
Customer tells me that he cannot run DPACK without Vcenter, is this true? I can't find a general answer and would like to solve this problem for my customer.

Paul, It's neither true or false. DPACK will NOT communicate directly with a ESXi servers. However, you can target the VMs hosted on the ESXi servers by IP directly, assuming the VM's OS is supported by DPACK.
Please let us know if you have further questions.

Hi: Does anybody knows if the answer commented by David for this question changed during the last 18 months due any new feature?

David's answer is still correct:
Live Optics Optical Prime collections are only supported with vCenter. Directly connecting to ESXi servers without vCenter is not supported.
However, you may point Optical Prime directly at the VMs running on the ESXi servers (as long as the VM OS is a supported OS.)

Why can't I connect directly to ESXi host?

Daniel Silva we have never developed the necessary code to communicate directly with ESXi boxes.

Unfortunately or not, I always face with clients that has only ESXi hosts.
