Overview
Optical Prime now supports Oracle collections in our Live Optics Linux Collector. The new feature will add the Oracle scripts to the Linux collector tar.gz file and enable the Linux collector to gather up the script output files and upload them to our uploader web service or generate an SIOKIT file.
What is happening?
Users can now run Oracle collections using the Optical Prime Linux collector
- Oracle scripts now bundled with the Live Optics native Linux collector
- Run the Linux collector from the command line and specify the location of the script file output
- Generate SIOKITs or Upload using the Linux collector
Why is this happening?
Most Oracle deployments run on Linux OSes. So, with the .NET collector, a user must copy the script over to the Linux machine, run the scripts, and then copy the results back to the Windows machine where they can then run the .NET collector. If the collector could simply be run from the Linux machine, this saves many steps in the process.
