After upgrading vSAN hosts to 6.7, when vSAN performance service starts, it will try to automatically upgrade its database schema from the previous vSAN version resulting in error.
This is a known VMware issue
Issue
After upgrading vSAN host from ESXi/vSAN 6.7 to ESXi/vSAN 6.7U1 or ESXi/vSAN 6.5P03/6.5U2 to ESXi/vSAN 6.7U1/U2, it will try to automatically upgrade its database schema from the previous vSAN version resulting in error.
- For ESXi/vSAN 6.7 U1, the vSAN performance database schema from 6.7 cannot be properly upgraded due to inconsistent internal schema patching sequence.
- For ESXi/vSAN 6.7 U2, the vSAN performance database schema from 6.5P03/6.5U2 cannot be properly upgraded due to inconsistent internal schema patching sequence.
