Overview
Live Optics now supports the profiling of third party hardware storage arrays. Using the Live Optics collector, configuration and performance data are captured, analyzed, and compiled into a project.
This document outlines the process of producing a PURE storage array project.
Complete a Pure collection

Open the Live Optics collector and select Storage. Choose Pure from the list of asset types and click Next.
- Choose a collection method and click Next.
FlashArray (REST API 2.*) for Purity Firmware 5.3 or greater

Enter the DNS Name or Array IP address, Issuer, and Client ID. For information on how to authenticate for firmware 5.3 or greater, see How to set up access to PURE FlashArray (Purity 5.3 or greater).
- Click Get Public Key on the Live Optics collector to generate a Key ID. Enter this in the Key ID field.
- Select either Collect Config & Performance or Collect Config Data Only. For Collect Config & Performance select the Performance Duration from the drop-down menu. The duration is the period of time the collector runs to collect historical performance data.
- Click Next.
FlashArray (REST API 1.*) for Purity Firmware 5.2.6 or older

Enter the array IP address, username, and password. The username should be the admin or admin equivalent account. For information on how to authenticate for firmware 5.2 or greater, see How to set up access to PURE FlashArray (Purity 5.2.6 or older).
- Select either Collect Config & Performance or Collect Config Data Only. For Collect Config & Performance select the Performance Duration from the drop-down menu. The duration is the period of time the collector runs to collect historical performance data.
- Click Next.

- The collector connects to the Pure array and begins to capture data.
- Select the Upload Option, either Automatically (recommended) or Upload Later, and click Next.
- If Upload Automatically was selected, enter the project name to be created, and click Next. If Upload Later was selected, enter the file name and directory to save the .SIOKIT file.
- Click Continue to begin collecting data. A status bar indicates the progress. The upload may take some time to complete depending on the speed of the Internet connection.
- If Upload Automatically is selected, the data is sent to the Live Optics portal. If Upload Later is selected, the .SIOKIT must be manually uploaded to the Live Optics portal. An option to create a .SIOKIT for backup is provided. This step can be skipped. Data is saved to an encrypted file, named [hostname]_NetWorker.siokit, and is written to the same folder where the collector was executed. Use this option when the host running the collector does not have Internet.
- If Upload Automatically is selected, the collector indicates when the upload is completed. Click Quit to close the collector.
- If Upload Later is selected, the .SIOKIT must be manually uploaded to the Live Optics portal. See Uploading SIOKIT file in the Live Optics collector for further information.
- To view your projects results, log on to the Live Optics web portal and select your project from the recent projects displayed on the main dashboard. From here you can download the config and/or performance reports, or share or delete the project.
