New Features/Fixes

Over Provisioning chart has been added to Optical Prime Virtual View under the Graphs tab. This graph has radio button selections to select the metrics for Provisioned and Used vCPU, Memory and Capacity for each VM.

Each bar represents a single VM which has been sorted highest to lowest by free resources. Each graph shows more data on hover per VM, for VM name, provisioned value (blue) and used value (orange).

Grey bars can also be presented in the chart which represent VMs where data is unavailable. This happens for VMs where VM tools is not installed or the VM is not VMware.

Specific information about each VM can be found in the general excel spreadsheet that can be downloaded for every project.

The values in the chart are taken from:

  • Capacity – the value when the data is collected at the time of the collection process. This value matches the free space of the drive on the OS
  • Memory - the value is based on the active memory used from the performance data for Guest VMs
  • vCPU - the value is based on the AvgCpuUsage from the performance based on the last 24 hours.

To learn how to read this chart please refer to the Right Sizing Virtual Machines article in the general/blog section of the support site.
