INTRODUCTION

Welcome to the release notes for Live Optics Personal Edition ( LO PE).  We encourage you to follow this page to receive email notifications when this document is updated.  Please make sure you download the latest version of the Live Optics PE collector to get the latest updates and enhancements

NEW FEATURES/FIXES

The LO PE is a new product release that is a subset of the current Registered Live Optics version.  The LO PE contains only the Optical Prime Inventory mode and is downloadable without the need to register using a corporate email account.

The Inventory mode is the only collection option that is available for the LO PE tool.  All other features and capabilities are grayed out.  In Inventory mode, data is not sent back to the Live Optics web services instead it is stored locally as an Excel file.  This Inventory mode Excel file does not include any performance metric or datapoints.  As the name implies the Inventory mode allows the user to collect basic server details including Physical Servers, Hypervisors, and VMs as well as other details.  If performance data is required, then the user must register and obtain the full Live Optics tool and utilize the remaining 2 collector option under Optical Prime - Secure connection or SIOKIT.

The table below provides a high-level comparison between the unregistered Live Optics Personal Edition (LO PE) and the full Registered Live Optics (LO) version.
