New Features/Fixes

  • July 18, 2018
    • Initial Release – “Preview” release
      • Please review the NetApp instructions on how to run the collector

Known Issues

The following known limitations should be considered when using Live Optics to assess a NetApp storage array. 

  • All versions of NetApp are supported by Live Optics with the following caveat:
    • Cluster mode
      • V8.2 and below have been tested with limited samples, processing time may take longer when we encounter a version that has not been tested. This will happen until we get samples for each version. 
    • 7-mode
      • 7-mode has been tested with limited samples, processing time may take longer when we encounter a version that has not been tested. This will happen until we get samples for each version. 
    • Partners cannot invite customers via Request Capture
      • Partners can view the report once the customer shares the report
    • Browser must be refreshed to see status updates.
    • Capturing data for multiple arrays all at once is not supported at this time.
    • Completion email will not be sent at this time.

Report Notes

The following known limitations should be considered when using Live Optics to assess a Unity storage array.  A sample report for NetApp is available below for download.

  • Dedupe, compression, total data reduction and capacity values do not contain the capacity data for Root volumes and Root aggregates.
    • Individual root volume details are included in the aggregates and volumes tabs.
  • Print Volume page will provide the top 15 volumes sorted by total size.
  • Volumes with no aggregate are not included in the capacity
  • PowerPoint will be in the next release
  • Performance numbers will be in the next release
