Live Optics Partner User Information Guide
Welcome to Live Optics Partner! Let’s get you started!
Live Optics is a performance automation platform that allows you to gather, analyze and view details of your customer’s workloads. This article will help you get started using Live Optics.
Also as a channel partner, you can request to setup your own “instance” of Live Optics through the Team feature. This will allow you to manage all of the Live Optics users within your company as well as set common branding and customer registration standards.
NOTE: If you are the first person from your company to be registered to Live Optics, a Team will be created and you will be made the administrator of your Team. Please review this knowledgebase article for more information about Live Optics Team administration.
Live Optics is made up of three components, the Collector, the Project and the Web Portal.
The collector is software your customer (or you on behalf of your customer) downloads and runs. It collects performance data from servers/operating systems and sends the results to secure Live Optics servers. The collector is available for Windows and Linux operating systems and each can remotely collect from other operating systems.
Performance data from the collector is organized into a container called a Project. A Project gathers information from one or more collectors and organizes them into a hierarchy of objects and provides users with numeric, tabular and graphical statistics about objects within the hierarchy. The Project is viewed within the user’s Web Portal.
The web portal provides a rich, interactive interface for viewing projects. Project data is always viewable by your customer and if you were the party who requested the customer run Live Optics, the results are viewable by you. You can share projects with others in your company (if enabled), or with your Dell sales team.
