Uploading SIOKIT files in Live Optics portal

Team Live Optics


Live Optics has changed the process that end users (customers) interact with the portal.  This KB Article is designed to demonstrate the process end users must go through to access the Live Optics portal, download/run the Live optics collector, upload the created SIOKIT file to their portal account and request project preparation and analysis to view analytic performance metrics in the project they create.


Step 1:  Login to Live Optics with your credentials and access your profile

Access the Live Optics portal (https://www.liveoptics.com) and login with your account credentials.

If you have never logged into Live Optics before, click on the first time login URL in the email sent to you after you were registered to the Live Optics.

Note:  If you already have an SIOKIT file, please skip to Step 4


Step 2:  Access and download Live Optics collector software

Click on “Download Collectors” button and download specific collector for site.  (Note:  The Windows based collector is the most popular as it can be used for Windows OS's, VMWare, and certain Linux and Citrix environments.  If unsure, use this collector to run in your IT environment)




Step 3:  Configure and run Live Optics collector

Extract the Live Optics software to your local computer and execute the Live Optics software.  Configure Live Optics, including adding all remote servers in Optical Prime, and begin data capture.  Once the Live Optics has completed, a SIOKIT file will be generated where you specified during Live Optics configuration.  




Step 4:  Upload SIOKIT file and add collector run to a project

Log back in to Live Optics and select the "Upload IOKIT" button.  This will take you to the module where you can select your IOKIT file(s) from your computer and create/add to a project.  



    1. Select the type of collection being upload, Optical Prime vs Storage.  Click "Next"
    2. Provide a name for the project and click "Next"
    3. Click "Browse" and navigate to location where SIOKIT file(s) are located.  Highlight any SIOKIT file and click Ok.
    4. Once the file upload reaches 100%, click "Upload"



    Step 5:  Proceed to project status window

    After uploading the SIOKIT file, the following prompt will appear.  Click Yes to proceed to the Project Status page for the newly created Live Optics  project.



Step 6:  Project is ready for review

The Live Optics project created during the SIOKIT upload will be on display.  There will be two primary views available for the project, Environmental View and Performance View. A third Virtual view is available when Virtual Machine (VM) are detected during the assessment.
