Overview

RAPID Discovery is a feature of the Live Optics collector that scans a customer environment, including Kubernetes clusters, to identify network devices. The tool further enhances the discovered assets by using a mix of WMI and SSH protocols to obtain additional details about the devices it discovers.

 

Complete a RAPID Discovery Kubernetes collection

  1. Open the Live Optics collector and select Server & Cloud. Choose RAPID Discovery from the list of asset types and click Next.

  2. Click Next on the Upload Option screen. 
  3. Select Network Scan and enter the hostnames, IP addresses, or IP range of the Kubernetes nodes.
  4. When the nodes have been discovered, select them all using the checkbox, and click SSH Scan.
  5. Enter your credentials (username and password) to access the Linux system. 
  6. Once the collection has completed, click Generate Excel Report.
