Overview
This article outlines Live Optics Automated Insights Report AIR.
AIR for Optical Prime is a data-driven analysis for Optical Prime projects to educate and inform end-users about their environments. AIR reports both physical and virtual environments configurations and performance and identify high potential problems. The report is downloadable for each Optical Prime project in the form of a PowerPoint deck accompanied with an Excel report for further details.
Creating an Optical Prime Project
To create an Optical Prime project, first Download the Live Optics Collector and follow instructions on how to Create Optical Prime Projects from Existing Collector Runs or with Multiple Collector Runs.
Downloading Live Optics AIR
To download Live Optics AIR, click Export and select Download Insights Report. This will download a zipped folder with a PowerPoint deck and an Excel Spreadsheet.
AIR PowerPoint Reporting
- Introduction slide
Includes project details and owner information.
- Physical Overview
Includes information about the physical environment, from the number of servers and clusters, CPU, memory and capacity utilization, network stats and IOPs. It also lists the vendor and model for the installed servers as well as the operating systems available.
- Virtual Overview
Similar to the Physical Overview, the Virtual Overview slide focuses on the metrics related to the virtual environment, with the addition of VM Profiling.
- VM Resource Distribution
Highlights the VM resources available, including VM count, as well as Total and Average vCPUs, RAM and Storage. The VM Distribution Chart highlights the Standard vs. Outlier VMs.
- OS Licensing by Cluster
For each Cluster, this shows the distribution of available OSes. There is potential licensing benefit associated concentrating VMs of similar OSes where possible.
- VM Sizing Intelligence
In focus view for the VM Profiling, highlighting the OS versions, T-Shirt Sizes and Unique VMs.
- Summary Insights
Hand in hand with the Insights Excel Spreadsheet, this highlight potential problem areas, including:
