Overview
Live Optics supports the profiling of Dell Technologies SC storage array platform (SC Series). In order to connect to an SC array, the user will have to connect to their Data Storage Manager. This article explains what the Data Storage Manager is. The Live Optics collector application must connect to a working instance of DSM to gather data from SC arrays.
Prerequisites for Running Live Optics against DSM
- You must have a working DSM installation that is connected to the SC array that you wish to analyze
- You must have working credentials to be able to login to the DSM
- You will need the network address (IP address or DNS name) of the DSM
- You must download the Live Optics collector ZIP and have extracted the Live Optics EXE from the ZIP on a system that can reach the DSM over the network
If you have each of these perquisite requirements, you may proceed with the Live Optics collection. Launch the Live Optics collector executable and follow the instructions for SC collection.
If you do not have a working DSM installed, then you must download and install the DSM, and then connect your SC array to the DSM.
